In “Dive into You” the choreographer and performer Kat Válastur hybridizes the figure and function of archaic female oracles with the photosynthetic processes and growth of trees. She draws an analogy between how female oracles, entering a trance, serve as portals to the divine, and how in organic life, the tree transforms light through photosynthesis into energy and oxygen. Bringing this analogy in the theatrical space she creates a captivating solo based on how the physical dimensions and temporal aspects of this crossing can be expressed as energy manifestations – revealing dynamic elements such as vibrations, spirals, and circles. Inspired by the deep, resonant sounds of the wooden percussion instrument semantron, a percussive choreography unfolds, underpinned by a composition by musician Aho Ssan and Válastur's vocals, the piece emerges as an oracle, hoping to connect us with our most secret and tender part.

Kat Válastur is a Greek choreographer, performer and singer who works in Berlin and Athens. Her works combine rural, mystical and spiritual elements of her origins with an aesthetic between archaic and science fiction. Through dance, sound and voice, she creates contemporary rituals that strive for physical and spiritual transformation. She often uses specially crafted sculptural instruments as an extension of the dancers' bodies. Her work has been shown internationally (e.g. HAU, Théâtre de la Ville, Tanz im August) and supported by institutions such as the Hermès Foundation. She was a guest artist at Olafur Eliasson's Institute for Spatial Experiments, Artist in Residence at the Cité Internationale des Arts (Paris) and has been a member of the German Academy of Performing Arts since 2022.
