In this multi-day workshop, we will dive into the basics of contemporary dance together. The starting point for our dance and artistic journey of discovery will be the company's productions. We will immerse ourselves in the respective movement languages, musical worlds, and choreographies of the participating artists. With the help of various improvisation techniques, we will mindfully explore our bodies and develop our own expressive abilities. Based on the techniques we learn, we will develop our own movements individually and in groups. We will dance without pressure, with curiosity, joy, and at our own pace. The workshop not only offers space for new movement experiences, but also invites us to connect with each other through dance—openly, creatively, and in a relaxed atmosphere.
Workshop to the new work by Emanuel Gat
This workshop focuses on the movement language of Emanuel Gat, guest choreographer for the 2025/26 season. In his powerful choreographic compositions, Gat explores the relationship between movement and music. His new work “Abschied” (Farewell) with the DFDC deals with two songs from Gustav Mahler's song cycle “Das Lied von der Erde” (The Song of the Earth). The workshop invites participants to explore this and to examine Gat's movement language in the context of music.
