Eva Urbanová

January & February 2025

As part of the festival "Nebenan - Independent Art from Slovakia", choreographer and dancer Eva Urbanová completed a residenca in HELLERAU. Eva Urbanová worked on her new project "OUR PRACTICES" together with dancer Giorgia Scisciola.

"OUR PRACTICES" explores touch, sensitivity, connection, witchcraft and community. The performance is planned as a journey for three dancers and explores the power and challenges of heightened sensitivity. Based on the archetype of the witch, the dancers navigate through their sensitivity as a superpower. Eva Urbanová works with touch, imagination and breath awareness. A central goal is to heal the "witch wound", the collective trauma of the persecution of people with extraordinary knowledge and sensitivity.

On 8 February 2025, a joint open studio took place with director and performer Petra Fornayová and Eva Urbanová, where they shared their research processes.
