Under the title "Lonely Islands / Gazdátlan szigetek", the dancer Katalin Bitó examines how various paid jobs - which she has pursued in addition to her artistic freelance work - influence her dance practice. In doing so, she deals with her own position and the state of burnout and loneliness in the young independent scene in Hungary:

"Self-fragments, lonely islands of my disintegrated life... Why am I not able to see them as a complete whole? Deep down, they are all connected and nourish each other ... I have the feeling that this kind of disintegration is created by an external force..."

The residency is part of the festival "Nebenan/Mellettünk - Independent Art from Hungary". In cooperation with the Workshop Foundation - a platform for international residencies and co-productions in Budapest - three residency projects by young dance and performance artists from the independent scene in Hungary were selected.
