Tanzformen

The "Tanzformen" series demonstrates in a special way that dance can be moulded according to the cultural background, biographies or circumstances of the artists and is a means of expressing inner states and establishing communication with each other and the audience. Under the title "Empowering Bodies", HELLERAU continued the series on three weekends in November and December 2024. Artistic works were presented that have an inherent power of resistance - a rebellion against social or political grievances caused by a longing for self-determination. The choreographers' artistic works convey their very own, individual body images, group choreographies and spatial constellations that use the power of dance to imagine utopian worlds - against instrumentalisation and for autonomy. The artistic programme is accompanied by workshops, talks, film and music.
