Voluntary Year in Audience Development

A voluntary year in the Audience Development department involves communicating artistic content or the history of the theater to specific target groups, e.g. young people, associations, networks. 

How do you address these groups, how can you communicate the program and content to them, what joint projects with groups, associations, students, etc. can emerge from this and be implemented in HELLERAU? 

The following tasks are involved: 

• Project organisation and implementation, which can be developed together with the supervisor
• Assignment in project organisation and implementation, idea development, discourse program (e.g. discussions, workshops and introductory events)
• Assignment in the area of audience development and networks
• Involvement in press and public relations work
• Artist and audience support

The tasks depend on the interests and previous knowledge of the volunteer. Furthermore, the volunteer represents HELLERAU in stand support or in artist support. A volunteer in our department helps us to fulfil important tasks. The one-year placement would provide a comprehensive insight into our field of activity, so that the tasks assigned to the volunteer can be more demanding and therefore more interesting with the volunteer's continuous presence. It can be: Languages, graphic and web design, editing programs, public relations techniques, teamwork skills, languages, project planning and implementation, time management, presentations, approaching people. Getting to know the departments of a theater and its work processes. The volunteer is supported in developing, planning and realising their own project.
