To mark the TACHELES Jewish Cultural Year, historians Claudia Dietze and Robert Badura invite you to join a guided cycle tour through the garden city of Hellerau. Based on the idea of weaving individual stories together into a coherent whole, the tour takes participants to places that, at first glance, appear to have little in common, but which, taken together, paint a multi-layered picture of Jewish life in the Hellerau. The tour traces the life stories of Jewish residents whilst also highlighting the structures of exclusion and discrimination within the Gartenstadt. Stops include the former homes of Paul Adler, the Crambach family and the doctor Fritz Pulvermacher.
