Breakdance meets ballet, street style meets contemporary, and hip-hop meets pointe work: the successful dance show “Floor on Fire”, presented by The Saxonz and HELLERAU, once again brings together different worlds of dance on one stage.
The focus is on the dancers’ individuality, their virtuosity and their creative spontaneity. What begins as a competition between different styles develops over the course of the evening into surprising mixed teams that together create new choreographies and forms of expression.
This edition of “Floor on Fire” is special because, in keeping with the “Taiwan Moves” series, a team of Taiwanese dancers will join local and international dancers for a joint performance on one evening.
Biography
The Saxonz, founded in 2013, are now one of the most successful German breaking crews. In 2014 and 2015, they won Battle of the Year, securing the unofficial title of German Champions, which they retained in 2019. In 2023, they received the Dresden City Council’s Sponsorship Award.

The project is a collaboration between The Saxonz and HELLERAU.
“Taiwan Moves” is presented in cooperation with ESMC and with the kind support of the TSMC Education & Culture Foundation and the Ministry of Culture, Taiwan.
