Family Stories – Creative Workshop for Children.
Led by Fang Yun Lo, Agnes Gunawan, Dan Dan Liu

What is the workshop about?

We often know our grandparents well — but what were they like as children What did they dream of? What shaped their lives?

In this creative holiday workshop, children explore family stories and turn them into artistic material through storytelling and making.

Before the workshop - Each participating child will:

  • interview a family member (for example a grandparent or older relative)
  • record the conversation
  • send the recording to us in advance

(These stories become inspiration and artistic research material for the workshop.)

During the workshop, children will:

  • listen and share family stories
  • practice storytelling in playful and imaginative ways
  • create props and objects inspired by memories and stories
  • reflect on how past experiences connect to their lives today and their ideas about the future

(The focus is on creativity, exchange, and process — not on performing on stage.)

The workshop supports:

  • creative expression and confidence
  • listening and storytelling skills
  • intercultural understanding and empathy
  • working artistically with personal history

After registering, you will receive further details regarding preparation and the procedure.
