The traditional Feature Ring series from HELLERAU is visiting the Societaetstheater! Since 2007, the Ring Trio has been bringing exciting artists to the Elbe every month to immerse themselves in their own music. After a short introductory rehearsal, the performers jump into a workshop-like evening together: spontaneous, risk-taking, and certainly unique! This time's guest: cabaret artist and songwriter Thomas Pigor.

There is a saying among the Franconians: “Fünf Minuddn depperd gstelld spard d'r ofd a Stund Ärberd” (Five minutes of foolishness saves an hour of work). Lower Franconian Thomas Pigor enjoys putting in the hour of work with his witty, observant lyrics. He is incredibly productive, writing revues, musicals, operettas, and librettos, as well as German-language adaptations of comic oratorios, such as “Life of Brian.” Pigor's life was shaped early on by his existence as a street musician in the duo Knacko und Konfetti. It is unknown whether he was Knacko or Konfetti. This question, and perhaps also the secret of his 30-year cabaret relationship with Benedikt Eichhorn, will be explored in a stage conversation with Demian Kappenstein. With his colleagues Felix-Otto Jacobi (double bass) and Eren Solak (keyboard instruments), he provides the verbal juggler with a musical counterpoint of Italo house, noise, and polka. What part of it is circus, theater, improvisation, or the underrated genre of cabaret is still up to the audience to decide!
