Transformation Forever

With the "Transformation Forever" festival, HELLERAU sets out from Dresden into the spirit of optimism and freedom of the 1990s in Central and Eastern Europe to reveal the social developments and transformation processes of that time and explore their influence on artistic and cultural phenomena of the present. In addition to new international productions and guest performances in the genres of dance, theatre, performance and music, the festival includes a broad discourse programme, showings by resident artists, a cultural forum with international guests, workshops, formats for encountering one another and a party. The programme will begin in September 2025 with a re-enactment of the play "Genetik Woyzeck" (1997) by Harriet Maria and Peter Meining, which visionarily intertwines the power of images with stage reality in the new age of multimedia.
