With “HELLER Summer,” HELLERAU kicks off the 2026/27 season and invites audiences to wrap up the summer with two extraordinary dance performances at the Festspielhaus.
Greek choreographer Lenio Kaklea kicks off the series with “The Birds.” Drawing on literary sources and bird migrations, she develops a choreography about coexistence in a world that is constantly changing. In early September, Taiwan’s Cloud Gate Dance Company follows with “13 Tongues”—a piece inspired by the stories and memories of a legendary street performer from Taipei.

“The Birds” is funded as part of the Alliance of International Production Companies by the Federal Government Commissioner for Culture and the Media.
“13 Tongues” is part of the “Taiwan Moves” programme. “Taiwan Moves” is presented in cooperation with ESMC and with the kind support of the TSMC Education & Culture Foundation and the Ministry of Culture, Taiwan.
