Im Dreieck springen: Dance encounters between Poland, the Czech Republic & Germany
25. – 28.06.2025
Dresden’s geographical location makes it predestined for cross-border exchange with its neighbors Poland and the Czech Republic. The event “Jumping in the triangle. Dance Encounters between Poland, Czech Republic & Germany” shows current developments in the dance sector in the two neighboring countries and invites Polish, Czech, Slovakian, Belarusian and Ukrainian artists to exchange ideas about their artistic work and production conditions on the topics of solidarity structures and transgenerational work.
In addition to the public stage performances artists, cultural practitioners and producers from Poland, the Czech Republic and Germany, especially from the Saxony region, will meet and exchange views on artistic-aesthetic issues and production conditions in a laboratory. The event marks the start of a future series that aims to promote artistic dance creation on both sides of the border in the future and keep it in the spotlight. Two group residencies, which offer insights into their work statuses as part of the laboratory, create a further moment of encounter.
Supported within the framework of the Alliance of International Production Houses by the Federal Government Commissioner for Culture and the Media, the Adam Mickiewicz Institute within the framework of the Polish EU Council Presidency, and by the Cultural Foundation of the Free State of Saxony (this measure is co-financed by tax funds on the basis of the budget adopted by the Saxon State Parliament). A cooperation with the Goethe-Institut.
