Choreography and Architecture

Students of the Palucca University of Dance Dresden & TU Dresden

2024/25 Performance

The ‘MA Choreography’ programme at the Palucca University of Dance Dresden and the Chair of Design at the Faculty of Architecture and Landscape at TU Dresden invite you to present the results of their interdisciplinary workshop ‘Choreography and Architecture’ at HELLERAU on 31 May 2025.

Choreography, architecture and performative spatial design come together in an experimental laboratory to develop practical approaches for site-specific interventions. In the inspiring surroundings of the Festspielhaus Hellerau, students will try out choreographic working methods and spatial concepts that bring movement and architecture into a creative dialogue. This results in performative interventions that not only reshape the space, but also make it possible to actively experience it.

In summer 2025, the internationally renowned architect Tsuyoshi Tane will be a guest. With his ‘Archaeology of the Future’, he explores the connection of a place with visionary concepts to create spaces that unite the past and the future. His contribution supports and enriches the interdisciplinary exchange on space, memory and the future.

Duration: ca. 2 hours.
