Moto Perpetuo & Alter Ego (Premiere)

Ballettabend von Jacopo Godani/Dresdner Frankfurt Dance Company (DE)

mit einer Dresden-Premiere

Tanz

At the beginning of the fifth season under the artistic direction of Jacopo Godani, the Italian choreographer and the Dresden Frankfurt Dance Company dedicate an exclusive double programme to their audience in HELLERAU – European Centre of the Arts: two choreographies – a premiere and a resumption – unite on an artistic journey. The contrast between them enables our audience to experience the creative development of the company over the past years.
MOTO PERPETUO is a gripping choreography with a striking neoclassical basic substance that allows classical ballet technique to develop into today’s artistic positioning. Through intense passages performed by the entire com-pany and extreme physicality crowned by lace dancing, this breathtaking piece demonstrates the artistic essence and uniqueness of the company.

In ALTER EGO Godani once again pursues his artistic passion: the endless possibilities of metamorphosis in his choreographic work. In this creation, the choreographic language is freed from conventional parameters: The opening to a new perception is made possible.
For both productions Godani worked together with the music collective 48nord, which offers the choreographer a fascinating electronic musical horizon.

Talk with Luisa Sancho Escanero, Representative of the Artistic Director / Artistic Coordinator on the 11th of October at 7:00 pm.
