For almost 2 decades Sascha Ring has been one of the defining protagonists of electronic music from Germany. With his tireless curiosity he explores the possibilities of bringing together programmed music and analogue instruments, oscillating between avant-garde, club music and big pop moments.

The work of Apparat has always had one common denominator: an elegance that inspires and nuances layers of detail and an almost universal beauty.

As a member of Moderat, whose last album III was released on Monkeytown in 2016 (Mute in North America), in collaboration with Ellen Allien (Orchestra of Bubbles) or as a solo artist, Apparat strives to transcend the dancefloor and the concert hall alike, focusing on the small in order to advance the big – with melodies that stick in your memory.
Apparat has recently focused on cinema, TV and theatre productions, winning acclaim and awards for works such as Capri – Revolution (directed by Mario Martone, 2018), which won “Best Soundtrack” at the Venice Film Festival, Sebastian Hartmann’s “War and Peace” at the Ruhrfestspiele and his collaboration with Transforma and the installation and performance artists, Manufactory, recently performed at the Barbican Center in London.
