As well as our various partners in Hellerau and based on the Festival Theatre grounds, we also work on many projects with other cultural institutions in Dresden and other regions.
Hellerau – European Center for the Arts, Dresden is a member of the Tanzplan Dresden/Tanzplan Deutschland (a dance initiative run by the German Federal Cultural Foundation); it is in the Klangnetz Dresden network, is funded by the Netzwerk Neue Musik (a German Federal Cultural Foundation funding project), and is in the d-dance-network, the European Marconi Network and “ietm”.
The restoration of Hellerau Festival Theatre was funded by the Federal Republic of Germany, the Free State of Saxony, the City of Dresden, the German Foundation for Monument Protection and the Getty Foundation, and received support from the company Hünnebeck GmbH in Ratingen. The guest houses underwent sensitive historical restoration by the Wüstenrot Foundation.
Hellerau Festival Theatre and the guest houses were constructed by the architect Heinrich Tessenow in 1911/1912. Since 20001 the architect in charge of restoring the Festival Theatre has been Josef Peter Meier-Scupin & Partners, Munich.
