A fluffy, white flokati cube provides a surface for friction in Cover Up. The result is a tangle of disguising strategies which brings camouflage techniques and the mechanisms of image production to light, and a choreographic exchange of images which questions conventional ways of seeing.

Ioannis Mandafounis, Fabrice Mazliah and May Zarhy (MAMAZA) develop choreographic spaces in their work which examine the field of tension between perceived images, physical images and physical and visual sensations. As a trio of choreographers, they follow the maxim that creativity calls for joint work and make no distinction between choreographer and performer. In this way, they rely less on compromise than on connecting and see their work as a form of self-sufficient cooperation. Their choreographic objects always offer the opportunity for lively exchange with the audience, involving the spectator as an active and responsible observer. Ioannis Mandafounis and Fabrice Mazliah developed the duet P.A.D. and the group work HUE in 2007. Together with May Zarhy, they created ZERO (2009) and Cover Up (2011), which they have performed at a number of international festivals and dance houses.
