How to portray “evil” characters in dance is the question in this piece, taking German RAF terrorist Andreas Baader as an example. Baader was a master of self-promotion. His ideology of the body as “the revolutionary’s most sacred weapon” (Andreas Baader) and his strategic application of this ideology, even beyond his own physical existence, makes Baader’s persona the ideal subject for this analytical dance solo.

Christoph Winkler studied choreography at the Ernst Busch Hochschule für Schauspielkunst and is considered one of Berlin’s most versatile choreographers. He has given guest performances at the Rencontres Chorégraphiques Interna-tionales de Seine-Saint-Denis (Paris), ImPulsTanz (Vienna) and Maison de la Danse (Lyon) and was artist in residence at the Tanzfabrik Berlin. In 2007 he founded the agency Berlin GOGOS. His solo Baader – Choreographie einer Radikalisierung is the second part of a trilogy created in 2011 about “evil” characters in dance, also comprising the parts Böse Körper and Maldoror – Amped.
